January 2020 Full and New Moon Energies - Making the best of your fresh new start.

Welcome to 2020!

With the start of a brand new decade upon us, there has never been a better time to release our past and look to the future with hope. This is the perfect time to set some new goals and intentions and get a big boost of energy from the planetary energies that are in play beginning with the first full and new moon cycles of the year.

Full Moon in Cancer - Lunar Eclipse January 10, 2020

Like a regular full moon only stronger, the Sun opposite Moon of a lunar eclipse brings your home, family and intimate relationships into sharper focus. Opposing forces such as work versus home, or what you need versus what you want, create inner tension and external pressures. This can lead to conflict and crises that drain your energy.

The lunar qualities of emotions and instincts reach their peak at a lunar eclipse. So use your increased emotional strength and intuition to overcome any relationship challenges. Subconscious awareness allows for an impartial and balanced look at your personal relationships. You will clearly see any relationship dynamics or negative feelings causing disharmony. A lunar eclipse represents a resetting of your emotions, clearing away the emotional baggage of the previous six months.

New Moon in Aquarius January 24, 2020

The new moon square Uranus can bring unexpected changes and erratic behavior.  More than any other recent moon phase, the January 24 new moon calls for caution, flexibility, restraint, and common sense. Some people around you are likely to overreact to changes in their lives. Stay aware  and level headed during this time and you'll come out on the other end of any trouble unharmed.  It's consciousness and patience that will overcome.

This shouldn't be too hard because fixed star Dabih in the steady constellation of Capricorn will offer patience, trust, and faith. Trusting your instincts and reacting quickly to changing conditions is the key to navigating the new moon which as you can see, can seem a little bi-polar.

The best time for making a fresh start and for beginning new projects is during the first two weeks of this new moon cycle. This waxing phase of the Moon lasts from January 24 to the February 9 full moon.
